Unlike most children who are maybe a little scared of going to the dentist, Dr. Bello was always thrilled to visit hers, and even looked forward to it! “I decided on a career in dentistry as a young child. I still remember going to the dentist when I was seven!” she recalls. With the inspiration of her own dentist, Dr. Bello went on to get her dental degree from Howard University Dental School, and strives to bring a similar enjoyable experience to her patients today.

Dr. Bello believes in an open and patient-centered approach to dental care. She always educates her patients on their oral health, as she recognizes that an educated patient is more diligent about oral care. In addition to educating her patients, she understands that many people have dental phobia and finds it important to calm their nerves concerning dentistry.

While in dental school, Dr. Bello volunteered in her community by sharing her dental expertise at the local Boys and Girls Club, churches, and the “Give Kids A Smile” day program. She says, “I have always had a passion for giving back to my community.” This background drove her to choose to work in a community health center like Finger Lakes Community Health.

In her free time, Dr. Bello likes to read educational journals, spend time with her family, and travel.
